For the 46th consecutive year, our Lions District Auvergne Rhone-Alpes- gathered for three weeks in July, a group of 26 young people aged 18-22 from 22 countries. They were mainly from Europe but also came from far countries such as Africa, Asia, Europe or the United States.

Hosting provided by Lions clubs in our District is a major social action for the youth, because we believe in its generosity, its future, and we participate in interactions that promote understanding, tolerance and friendship between people and knowledge of our country, lifestyle and language that is so beautiful and rich.

These young people were selected by our correspondents in their countries for their quality, merit and control of the French language that is the only practiced during the camp. The group's visit is entirely financed by the LIONS (District and Clubs). The trip is usually handled by the sponsoring clubs of young people.

It's a cultural, social and friendly experience for these young people as they are first recieved one week in french families and treated like their own children. Then Clubs of several cities of the Disctrict greet them successively during 15 days. Meetings and meals with adults, visits, festivities create a climate of friendliness advantageous for a lasting friendship. From Annecy, but also from Voiron, Grenoble, Aix and Chambery, by way of Crest, St-Etienne, Bourg, Lyon, Chamonix, our young persons live a tremendous experience, especially since many of them leave their family or their country for the first time.

With 120 Camps like this around the world, it is a way for the Lions Club to add their contribution to the building of Peace in the World
